FKEC Conducts Distribution Pole Inspection in Marathon

Over the next four months, Florida Keys Electric Cooperative is conducting an inspection of all distribution poles in the Middle Keys from mile marker 60 to the Seven Mile Bridge.    

During the project, member-consumers may see contract crews from Clearsight, a company specializing in utility pole inspection, treatment, and reinforcement, visually inspecting structures throughout neighborhoods. All inspectors will be in marked vehicles and carry proper FKEC credentials.

The contract crews are surveying all poles, calculating the structures’ life spans, and performing any necessary treatment. Any pole replacements deemed necessary will follow.
